Objective

The SingHealth Duke-NUS Academic Medicine is calling for proposals for the SingHealth Duke-NUS Academic Medicine Special Request for Urgent COVID-19 Research Funding. Proposals should have the ability for rapid activation using existing manpower and equipment (i.e. Re-purposing of current staff, existing therapeutics, etc.), to enable quick and valuable outcomes to be established. Such proposals will be accorded with higher priority.

Aims of the grant call:

  • Strengthen understanding of COVID-19 biologically and clinically
  • Develop robust outbreak control and/or management
  • Mitigate rapid spread of disease
  • Provide decision-making and planning at national levels
  • Contribute to the national and global response to the COVID-19 outbreak
  • Innovative projects to continue clinical care of non-COVID-19 patients (e.g., cancer, heart disease, eye) during the COVID-19 outbreak
  • Themes outside of the above pre-defined sectors - drawn from any area of science and engineering - may also be considered, if they contribute significantly to solutions for concerns arising from COVID-19
