Objectives

The SingHealth Regional Health System (SingHealth) and Singapore University of Technology and Design (SUTD) are jointly launching the SingHealth - SUTD Population Health Innovation Fund (PHIF) Joint Grant Call, which aims to achieve the following objectives:

  1. Facilitate collaborations between SingHealth and SUTD faculties for population health research and innovation projects.

  2. Provide resources for population health research and innovation projects with high commercialization potential that aim to provide innovative solutions to address unmet needs in the community.

  3. Encourage development, deployment and commercialization of technologies of Industry relevance.

Eligibility Criteria

Each application must involve minimally 3 Co-PIs, with eligibility criteria given below:

  • 1 technical PI from SUTD, and

  • 1 PI from SingHealth (including her member institutions).

Please note that there is no limit to the number of Co-PIs and/or collaborators.

Eligibility criteria for each of the Co-PI:

SUTD:

  • Full-time employees of SUTD (either tenured/ tenure-track faculty) are welcome to apply.

SingHealth (including her member institutions):

  • All applicants with primary appointment with SingHealth (including her member institutions) are welcome to apply.

Funding Details

  • Each project will receive funding of up to S$200,000 per project for a maximum duration of 12 months.
  • Each PI from SingHealth and SUTD may submit a budget request of up to $100,000 (50% of the total PHIF grant award), to fund project expenses in SingHealth and SUTD respectively. The awarded budget would be managed by SingHealth and SUTD respectively.

Submission

  1. Either the SingHealth PI or SUTD PI can submit the application on behalf of the team.

  2. SingHealth applicants are to submit the completed documents (please see below) to SingHealth at cphri@singhealth.com.sg through Host Institution's research office by 9 September 2024 (Monday), 5PM.

    • 'Application Form_SingHealth-SUTD PHIF Joint Grant Call 2024' in both Microsoft Word format and PDF format

    • 'Budget_Form_SingHealth-SUTD Population Health Joint Grant 2024' in Microsoft Excel format

    • 'Letter of Intent_Template' from the industry collaborator in PDF format (if applicable)

  1. Each joint application must be endorsed by:

    • SingHealth PI(s): Head of Department (or equivalent)

    • SUTD PI(s): Head of Pillar (or equivalent)

SingHealth PIs are to please refer to your respective Institutional Research Administrators for guidance on internal deadlines and submission procedures set by your institutions.
