Background

The Society of Infectious Disease (Singapore) was founded in 1990 to promote the practice, education, training and prevention of infectious diseases. Institut Mérieux was founded in 1897 and is based in Lyon, France. It is a globally important company in the field of infectious diseases.

This year, the Society and Institut Mérieux will be offering the Society of Infectious Disease (Singapore) and Institut Mérieux Young Investigator Award (SIDS-IM YIA). The objective of this award is to support the academic work of one young investigator in the domain of antimicrobial resistance in Singapore.

 

 

Funding Details

This award is valued at €10,000. The award can be used to fund pilot work, presentations for overseas conferences and publication feeds.

 

 

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants who fulfil the following criteria are invited to apply.

  • Scientists and clinicians working in the field of antimicrobial resistance

  • Significant work undertaken in Singapore in the domain of antimicrobial resistance, which may be clinical infectious disease, microbiology, epidemiology, public health, infection control or antimicrobial stewardship

  • Working full-time in a public hospital or research institution in Singapore

  • Within ten years of obtaining their M.B.B.S or Ph.D

 

Submission

Applicants are to send their completed applications using 'SIDS IM YIA Application form 2020' (attached) to tau_hong_lee@ncid.sg by 16 October 2020 (Friday).
