Objectives

The SingHealth Regional Health System and Singapore University of Technology and Design (SUTD) are jointly launching the Supplementary SingHealth - SUTD Population Health Innovation Fund (PHIF) Joint Grant Call, which aims to achieve the following objectives:

Facilitate collaborations between SingHealth and SUTD faculties for population health research and innovation projects.
Provide resources for population health research and innovation projects with high commercialization potential that aim to provide innovative solutions to address unmet needs in the community.
Encourage development, deployment and commercialization of technologies of Industry relevance.

Eligibility Criteria

Each application must involve minimally 3 Co-PIs, with eligibility criteria given below:

1 Co-PI from SUTD,
1 Co-PI from SingHealth (including her member institutions), and
1 commercial Co-PI from the industry.

Please note that there is no limit to the number of Co-PIs and/or collaborators.

Eligibility criteria for each of the Co-PI:

SUTD:

Full-time employees of SUTD (either tenured/ tenure-track faculty) are welcome to apply.

SingHealth (including her member institutions):

All applicants with primary appointment with SingHealth (including her member institutions) are welcome to apply.

Industry:

The commercial Co-PI is required to provide equal contribution (in cash and/or in kind) based on the total PHIF grant award quantum:

1. For Multinational Corporations (MNC) or Large Local Enterprises (LLE): at least 50% contribution should be in cash, and the remaining in kind
2. For Small and Medium Enterprises (SME) including start-ups: in cash and/or in kind contribution, preferably with 30% cash contribution.

Funding Details

Each project will receive funding of up to S$100,000 per project for a maximum duration of 12 months.

Each PI from SingHealth and SUTD may submit a budget request of up to $50,000 (50% of the total PHIF grant award), to fund project expenses in SingHealth and SUTD respectively. The awarded budget would be managed by SingHealth and SUTD respectively.

Submission

Each application involves at least 1 SingHealth Co-PI,　 1 SUTD Co-PI, and 1 Commercial Co-PI. Either SingHealth Co-PI or SUTD Co-PI can submit on behalf of the team.

SingHealth applicants are to submit the completed documents (please see below) to SingHealth at Pulses.cg@singhealth.com.sgthrough Host Institution's research office by 4 June 2021 (Friday), 12PM.
