Background

The Platform for Translational Systems Medicine (PTSM) is a translational systems medicine platform that collates and enhances diverse expertise and capabilities spanning translational immunology, clinical approaches (oncology related and beyond) and high performance computing across Academic Medical Centre (AMC)/Duke‑NUS. PTSM provides funding and integrated expertise to accelerate the development of next‑generation therapeutics and theragnostics.

This call aims to support focused, milestone driven translational projects with a clear path toward clinical proof-of-concept or commercial value inflection within the grant period.

Funding Details

Each project will be supported by

  • Direct funding up to $200k (awarded to individual project)
  • Dedicated Project Manager for road map definition and ensure delivery
  • Dedicated manpower/technology support: Access to core resources within PTSM (i.e., end-to-end expertise and technologies ) covered by 1 direct funding at cost and in-kind expert manpower
  • Direct link to AMC domain experts and access to academic partners and networks

Note:

  • Projects are expected to achieve defined milestones within a funding period of 12-24 months, depending on the project.
  • It is expected that the grantee will be able to attract significant competitive funding, including private investors.
  • Expected outcomes may include, for example, a validated therapeutic or diagnostic candidate, a clinically actionable algorithm or biomarker, or a clear pathway to follow-on public or private funding.
  • Up to nine projects will be funded.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Grant proposals from AMC investigators (research track/tenure track/practice track) will be evaluated based on
  • Technical and therapeutic innovation potentials
  • Strengths and relevance of supporting data
  • Potential for entry to clinic for proof-of-concept evaluation
  • Translational and commercialization potential
  • Excellence of PI, team strength and execution capability
  • Potential to attract significant competitive funding, including private investors, after project completion. 

Note:

  • While projects across discovery to early clinical translation are eligible, priority will be given to proposals that can realistically reach a defined translational value inflection point within the funding period.

Submission

Interested applicants are to submit the completed short application (2000 words), accompanied by 2-3 figures in addition to the PTSM support required and Table 1 in a single PDF file (with a size limit of 2MB), with <PI name> - PTSM call 2026.pdf file naming via email to Dr Lakshmi Ramakrishna at lakshmi.ramakrishna@visitor.nus.edu.sg & lakshmi.ramakrishna@singhealth.com.sg by 31 May 2026 (Sunday).
