Programme Description: 
This session explores how cultures and values in four Southeast Asian countries influence clinical ethics, from the role of the family in decision-making to diverse understandings of respect for patients as persons and of care at the edges of biomedicine. Through regional perspectives and case experiences, speakers will reflect on how clinicians bridge universal ethical principles and local values and belief systems, and how dialogue across Southeast Asia can enrich bioethics as an integral part of healthcare.
