June Sheren is a Family Physician and a pioneer in Performing Arts Medicine (PAM) in Singapore. She graduated in 1997 from the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, NUS, and completed postgraduate studies in Family Medicine. She holds a Master’s degree in PAM from University College London (UCL) and is the only doctor in Singapore formally qualified in this field.Firmly grounded in primary care, Dr Sheren cares for performing artists from all backgrounds. She serves as medical advisor and physician to the Singapore Symphony Orchestra and runs a musician's clinic for students of the Yong Siew Toh Conservatory of Music, NUS, providing a safe space for their physical and mental health needs.Dr Sheren introduced PAM to the World Organization of Family Doctors, leading a panel presentation at the WONCA Asia-Pacific Conference 2024 supported by the National Arts Council. As guest lecturer at UCL, she teaches women’s health and performance in their postgraduate MSc. She has delivered lectures for the British Association of Performing Arts Medicine and Jean Hailes for Women’s Health Australia, and has contributed talks and written content for many performing arts organizations worldwide.Dr Sheren previously served as Family Medicine Registrar and Deputy Director at SingHealth Polyclinics. She currently practices at Tucker Medical. Outside of her professional work, she enjoys playing the piano and cello.
