Synonym(s):

Date: 17 October, Friday | Time: 15:15 - 16:45 | Venue: Academia Room, L1-S4

Speakers: Ms Nicole Kay & Mr Daniel Kong

Programme Description:
Presentations and sharings on first person narratives and particularly presenting the work of Tapestry Project

Programme Details:
In this session, Nicole K. (founder and president of Tapestry Project SG), will discuss the work of first person narratives about mental health issues, contextualising this within the broader study of illness narratives, narrative medicine, and the work of the Tapestry Project charity. The session will touch on ideas of voice and identity, and the way that personal narratives about health and sickness are affected by society and the clinic. How do attitudes, prejudices, and inherited voices and terminologies shape the telling of one’s story? And consequently, how are those stories received by readers?
