Vice Chair (Research), Prof Pierce Chow’s message: Academic medicine means that on top of caring for patients, a doctor should take the opportunity to also discover useful new knowledge and teach the next generation of doctors. This positively impacts on patients both current and future and creates the opportunity to do something more impactful with our lives as surgeons. The Academic Clinical Program in Surgery aims to create the environment necessary for the practice of academic surgery. We hope to elevate and expand the base of researchers and innovators in Surgery by investing in and nurturing talents – among students, residents and faculty. |
