Held from 15 to 17 April 2025, the 6th edition of the Academic Medicine Advisory Council (AMAC) Meeting 2025 brought together our AM Community and leaders across SingHealth Duke-NUS AMC to examine and reflect on the latest developments and challenges in academic health systems as they engaged with internationally renowned academic clinicians to shape the way forward and emerge stronger as an AMC.
This three-day hybrid event, which took place at Academia (SGH Campus) and online, also saw the return of the highly successful Academic Hour with AMAC which featured two plenary lectures by prominent world-class thought leaders, centred on three key themes:
Explore what it takes to accelerate the translation of groundbreaking discoveries and innovations into real-world solutions. Scaling their implementation in healthcare and health delivery requires clinician-researchers and -innovators to go beyond traditional training – gaining a deeper understanding of end-user needs, overcoming real-world challenges, and embracing the spirit of entrepreneurship.
In Professor Victor Dzau’s latest publications (PNAS Nexus & The Lancet), he underscores the urgent need for academic medicine to evolve beyond traditional boundaries, integrating fields such as engineering, social sciences, and digital health to tackle complex healthcare challenges. AMAC 2025 will delve deeper into this vision – exploring how convergence science can drive groundbreaking advancements in patient care, research, and health systems transformation.
To prepare the entire AMC to deliver the SingHealth vision for digital health, discussions will extend beyond talent development, infrastructure building, establishment of new clinical career tracks and appropriate governance structures. A key focus will be on fostering AMC-wide data and AI literacy for the citizenry.

We hope you have enjoyed the thought-provoking and inspiring discussions at AMAC 2025.
