Kwan Im Thong Hood Cho Temple Professorship in Ophthalmology

Dedicated to the Chinese Goddess of Mercy, Kuan Yin or Guan Yin, the Kwan Im Thong Hood Cho Temple has been providing succour to those in need since 1884. One of the oldest Buddhist temples in Singapore, it was a place of refuge during the Japanese Occupation of Singapore. For many decades now, it has been offering support to the sick and disadvantaged as well as to society at large through its many acts of philanthropy. In 2018, the Kwan Im Thong Hood Cho Temple Professorship in Ophthalmology was set up through the generous gift from the Kwan Im Thong Hood Cho Temple.
