Tamoxifen

• Nausea can sometimes occur initially
  If nausea occurs, take your tablets right after a meal.
• Hot flushes
  If this occurs, take your tablets at bedtime.
• Swelling of the leg or feet (water retention)
• Menstrual irregularities

Inform your doctor if any of the following occurs:

• Signs of blood clot over a vein e.g. calf tenderness, warmth, swelling, redness
• Sudden onset of cough, chest pain or shortness of breath
• Changes in eye sight
• For women: unexpected bleeding or discharge from the vagina

• Inform your doctor or pharmacist if you have any other medical conditions e.g. history of blood clots.
• Use effective birth control while taking Tamoxifen. Inform your doctor if you plan to get or suspect that you are pregnant.
• Do not breastfeed. Inform your doctor if you intend to breastfeed while taking Tamoxifen.

Grapefruit and its juice.

It is a tablet, to be taken by mouth. It may be taken with or without food, with a glass of water or juice.

If you miss a dose of Tamoxifen, take it as soon as you remember if it is within a few hours of your missed dose. If it is too near to your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your usual dosing time. Do not double the dose.

If you overdose on Tamoxifen, inform your doctor immediately.
