Business Innovations Generator (BIG) Incubation Programme

Objective

SMU Institute of Innovation and Entrepreneurship (IIE) is currently recruiting early stage startups for the Business Innovations Generator (BIG) Incubation Programme. Tailored for early-stage startups to jumpstart their business their business ideas and foster creativity, SMU IIE’s flagship incubation programme - Business Innovations Generator (BIG) offers startups an intensive 4-month coaching programme. It is designed to help early-stage founders validate their product and get ready for seed investment.

Aligned with IIE’s objectives of nurturing the entrepreneurial mindset and fostering a vibrant community of innovators, BIG accepts early-stage and aspiring entrepreneurs including those who are not affiliated with SMU, takes no equity from its startups and is industry agnostic. Funding Details

Selected teams can receive support including grant opportunities, world-class mentors and advisors, masterclasses, perks as well as a work space in the heart of downtown Singapore.

Eligibility Criteria

• Application to the programme is open to All, including SMU-affiliated/ non-SMU affiliated early-stage and aspiring entrepreneurs or founders.

• Growth-oriented founders with a validated idea/ MVP are given preference.

Submission

1. Application for the cohort of August 2022 is now open.

2. Interested applicants/startup please access the link here preferably via a desktop browser to view and complete the application form for the BIG programme by 8 July 2022 (Friday) to join the August cohort.

3. Important documents to be submitted along with the application:

   • Pitch-Deck as per guidelines given (see attached)

   • ACRA Bizfile, if you have already registered your company in Singapore

   • Total size of the files to be uploaded (all files together) should not exceed 20MB.

4. Startup if selected, will be invited to pitch at BIG's intake panel in the preceding month of July for the August cohort. Applications should come in at least a month before the commencement of intake panel sessions. For more details on the application process and guidelines, please click here.

5. For early bird perk, applicant may receive a one-on-one coaching session to help perfect your pitch with the incubation team when you apply by 17 June 2022 (Friday). Limited slots available.
