Clinical Trialist Development Award (CTDA)

A prestigious award that provides protected time for 2 years (0.2 FTE for Clinical Trialist; 0.4 FTE for Master Clinical Trialist), with the aim to develop clinicians with expertise and interest in the conduct of clinical trials.

The CTDA promotes recognition for the pursuit of clinical research and demonstrates institutional and national prestige. It supports the endeavours of Clinical Trialists at varying levels to deepen focus on research efforts through clinical trials and ensure quality care and patient safety.

The Clinical Trialist Development Award aims to:

  1. Support the development of clinicians with expertise and interest in the conduct of clinical trials
  2. Retain talent
  3. Motivate, mentor and train junior investigators to perform clinical trials
  4. Ensure trial quality and patient safety
  5. Achieve KPIs for research

 

Each submission must be made using the prescribed forms:

  1. Clinical Trialist Development Award Application Form (to be completed by applicant)
  2. Applicant CV & Career Development Plan (to be completed by applicant)
  3. Nomination Form (to be completed and endorsed by Clinical HOD, ACP Chair and SDDC Head (where applicable).

Applications that fail to comply with requirements in any of the templates and/or incomplete applications will be disqualified and will not be reviewed.

  • Proposals should define clear and measurable deliverables / outcomes.
  • The criteria of the applicant and the expected outcomes are as follow:

Criteria

A Clinician who:

  • Is a PI of 2 or more Clinical Trials in the past 2 years;

  • Secured trial contract value of >S$500,000 over a 2-year period and

  • Achieved average recruitment target of ≥50% for all the trials in the past 2 years

    OR

    Is overall Chief PI of Investigator Initiated Clinical Trial who has designed the trial and secured funding for the trial with contract value of >S$500,000

A Clinician who:

  • Is a PI of 5 or more Clinical Trials in the past 2 years; 

  • Secured trial contract value of >S$1 million over a 2-year period and

  • Achieved recruitment target of ≥50% for all the trials in the past 2 years

    OR

    Is overall Chief PI of Investigator Initiated Clinical Trial who has designed the trial and secured funding for the trial with contract value of >S$1 million
