AMEI Education Leadership (AMLead) Programme

The AMEI Education Leadership (AMLead) Programme is a fellowship that brings together an interprofessional community of healthcare educators to develop their education leadership skills.

The programme aims to equip healthcare professionals in key educational positions with leadership skills to enable them to lead their organisations effectively. The AMLead Programme is a rigourous nine-month long programme with an emphasis on a project-focused learning experience.

Participants will gain leadership competence while progressing key initiatives through four 2-day seminars, facilitated small group learning sessions, hands-on mentoring, and executive coaching.

To date, the programme has trained 78 interprofessional key educational leaders since its launch in 2014.

Objectives

At the end of this course, participants will demostrate:

  • Enhanced leadership capacity
  • Learning through experimentation and facilitated reflection
  • Awareness of leadership gaps
  • Skills in small group learning and teaching
  • Project progression with measurable outcomes

A year long structured programme

Selection Criteria

This programme is by nomination only from the respective Department Directors and/or Academic Clinical Programme (ACP) Vice-Chairs of Education. Class size is limited to 20 pax.

Healthcare educators with the following qualities will be shortlisted for the programme:

  • Possess extensive experience and expertise in areas of medical education, e.g. teaching and assessing learners, evidence based educational practice, designing, implementing, and evaluating learning activities
  • Demonstrate leadership potential with authority to steer projects
  • Hold current or future educational leadership role in SingHealth
