AMEI Centre for InterProfessional Health Education (CIPHE) partnered with the University of Toronto's Centre for Advancing Collaborative Healthcare & Education (CACHE) to deliver the 3rd run of Educating Health Professionals in Interprofessional Care (ehpic™) from 22-24 September 2025.
Over three days, 38 participants from a diverse mix of healthcare professions embarked on a transformative journey that began with their own IPE and IPCP project ideas. Throughout the intensive workshop, participants explored the rationale for interprofessional education (IPE) and collaborative practice (IPCP) through the CIHC Competency Framework, discovering how to systematically incorporate these competencies into their existing projects to enrich and strengthen their initiatives.
Participants left the workshop energised and equipped with enhanced project frameworks, transforming initial project concepts into more robust, evidence-based interprofessional initiatives. Beyond individual project development, participants engaged in collaborative learning activities and devised comprehensive strategies to grow faculty and staff capacity and interest in IPE/IPCP within their respective institutions. Sparked with new ideas, and having formed valuable cross-disciplinary collaborations that will extend well beyond the three-day programme. Many participants have been invited to join the CIPHE IPE Community of Practice, ensuring continued support and collaboration as they implement their enriched projects and advance interprofessional education within their organisations.
