Hear from our participants:
"The structure and pace of the QUAL-E course allows us to reflect on our learning points after every session, thereby, enabling us to build on our knowledge of qualitative methods throughout the course, and applying it into our own qualitative research projects. I'm inspired to put what I've learnt from this course into real practice. I really appreciate all the insights that the programme directors and guest speakers have shared with us. These are very helpful information that will help us go far in doing qualitative research. Thank you for the wonderful QUAL-E experience!"
“An excellent course for those who want to get more involved in Qualitative Research. Many thanks to wonderful course facilitators, Yang Yann and Raymond, and guest facilitators who were generous with their teachings and knowledge. Their personal sharing of real-world experiences really helped me understand difficult to grasp course topics. Kudos to a capable group of support staff who ensured the course went smoothly!”
"QUAL-E was my first proper exposure to qualitative research and I truly enjoyed the small class size, enthusiastic coursemates, excellent facilitators and the rich discussions. The readings and class sessions were well paced and well thought out to engage both novices as well as those with more experience doing qualitative studies. It required a big shift in mindset and rethinking research from a completely different perspective from what I have been used to. However, after stepping out of my comfort zone, it was eye-opening, inspiring and comforting to know that there are other ways to do research and find answers to questions/problems we encounter in our work and professions."

"QUAL-E has been an invaluable learning experience, deepening my appreciation for qualitative research and laying the foundation for my journey in this field. The course is exceptional because of its passionate and expert facilitators, inspiring guest speakers, excellent organization, and well-structured content. It is highly recommended for anyone interested in pursuing qualitative research."

"I highly recommend this course for all healthcare providers keen to embark on qualitative research for clinical as well as educational research. I was very happy to meet like-minded people during this course, who were from different backgrounds in SingHealth. The hands-on approach for doing interviews, focus groups, transcription, and analysis together as a cohort was very useful. We also appreciated the sharing and valuable "Pearls" by invited QUAL-E alumni who had already embarked on their own qualitative research journey upon completion of their course."

"The QUAL-E Course has enabled me to examine my deeply ingrained evidence-based medical training background. I owe it to Yang Yann, Raymond and the enriched learning environment they've created that I have walked away with deeper appreciation for qualitative research methodologies and found my positivist epistemology evolving. A shout out to all guest facilitators and previous QUAL-E graduates - you inspired us! To the admin staff, thank you for going above and beyond what is required."

"The QUAL-E course is an eye-opening experience into the world of qualitative research which is not routinely taught in medical school. Although the focus is on conducting qualitative research on medical education, the same principle can be applied to other healthcare research. The pace of the teaching is not over-whelming and it introduced concepts in broad principle that is easy to understand. Each session is also accompanied by sharing from previous participants to share about their journey in qualitative research. The community is encouraging and welcoming which makes learning more interesting!"
