Recommendations on Generative Artificial Intelligence (GenAI) use for SingHealth Duke-NUS Health Professions Educators

Introduction

GenAI is rapidly transforming how health professions education is designed, delivered, and experienced. This resource page introduces recommendations on GenAI usage to support both learners and educators of our SingHealth Duke-NUS Academic Medical Centre in navigating this evolving landscape.

These recommendations were synthesised from multiple institutional policies¹˒²˒³ and guidelines⁴ using GenAI, and subsequently reviewed and verified by the Learning & Experimenting with AI Partnership between SingHealth and Duke-NUS Education entities through AMEI (LEAP) advisory and workgroups. They provide key considerations for health professions educators when using GenAI in educational practices involving SingHealth learners, NUS/Duke-NUS students, residents, and other trainees.

These recommendations are non-exhaustive. As AI technology and institutional practices evolve, so too will these recommendations. They are, however, intended to serve as foundational considerations for any educator engaging with GenAI in their practice.
