Prof Ivy Oandasan

Ivy Oandasan is a Professor at the Department of Family & Community Medicine at the Temerty  Faculty of Medicine, University of Toronto. A family physician educator, researcher, and administrator, she has been a leader in the advancement of interprofessional education and collaborative practice, competency-based medical education in family medicine and program evaluation with a utilisation evaluation  focus. She was founding Director of the Office of Education at the University of Toronto (now Centre for the Advancement of Collaborative Health Education) that created the longitudinal IPE Curriculum that has influenced IPE across Canada and beyond.  

Currently as the Director of Education at the College of Family Physicians of Canada, she was recently the co-lead of a federally funded project to support training in preparing the primary care workforce to practice team-based comprehensive primary care. She grounds her work in the vision that education is a health services intervention and that both education and practice reform must work hand-in-hand if system change is to happen.
