Dear colleagues and friends,
On behalf of the Organising Committee, we are thrilled to welcome you to the SingHealth Duke-NUS Education Conference (SDEC) 2024.
The theme of SDEC 2024 is 'Elevating Healthcare Education, Empowering Healthcare Educators'. Healthcare educators today encounter a variety of challenges, such as shifts in the expectations of learners and the introduction of new educational technologies. It is thus essential to empower educators to lead change and collaborate to spearhead efforts necessary to place education at the core of healthcare advancement to improve patient care and outcomes.
SDEC, into its 6th edition, is a well-established conference that brings together educators, education researchers and other key stakeholders, to share knowledge, expertise and research in healthcare education. It offers delegates an opportunity to learn and explore a broad range of topics through workshops and symposia. The return of the conference to a full physical format will also present delegates an invaluable opportunity for in-person interactions and networking.
The conference aims to foster an environment where the exchange of best practices is championed and celebrated under the five sub-themes of educational excellence, interprofessional education, technology-enhanced learning & innovation, operational excellence and fostering well-being.
Our collective aspiration is to strengthen SDEC as a leading academic education conference by elevating the standard of discourse and knowledge dissemination. We are encouraging participation of education researchers and practitioners by having more sessions for paper presentations, poster submissions, and a new 'Point of View' category. Additionally, keynote and plenary presentations aligned with the conference theme will be delivered by leading education experts.
Submitting your work to SDEC 2024 as an abstract, or proposing a workshop / symposium, will give you the opportunity to share your work and experience with local, regional and international delegates. As a delegate, you will also have an excellent opportunity for networking and exploring potential collaborations.
All in all, we are confident that the collective synergistic efforts of presenters and delegates together will make this conference a resounding success.
