Dr Deepali Bang

Medical Officer, Endocrine, Changi General Hospital

     

Dr Deepali, MSc, PhD, MD, is an internal medicine resident at Singhealth Institution. She received her MD from Duke NUS Medical School, Singapore and was awarded the Academic Scholarship in MS1. She completed her PhD from University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, USA, where she identified a novel therapeutic target for pancreatic cancer. Prior to this, she earned her Bachelors' and Masters' degrees in Microbiology from University of Delhi, India, and was the recipient of the All India Post Graduate Scholarship.

She has always been a strong advocate for changing traditions and old models; and move towards more efficient and patient-centered healthcare systems. She joined the Longitudinal Integrated Clerkship (LIC) programme at Duke NUS in her second year of medical school, and continues to mentor Duke NUS students in keeping with the close-knit culture at Duke NUS.

She has led multiple Quality improvement projects to improve patient care and experience at Singhealth. Her Quality improvement project at National Heart Center, received Merit award at Singapore Healthcare Management Poster Competition 2021, and is being showcased in MOHH online repository of healthcare innovation projects. Outside of work, she is actively involved in raising her two kids and practices meditation to maintain her tranquillity of mind.
