Dr Ho Le Onn

Assistant Director, Patient Safety & Clinical Standards, Singapore General Hospital


Dr Ho Le Onn is the Assistant Director of the Patient Safety and Clinical Standards Unit at the Singapore General Hospital (SGH). He completed his MBBS at the University of Melbourne and has clinical experience in Emergency Medicine, Anaesthesia and Internal Medicine. He is also a qualified Industrial and Organisational Psychologist and a Certified Enterprise-wide Risk Manager.

Dr Ho currently oversees the SGH Patient Safety programme and Quality activities at SGH, which includes the institutional Clinical Quality Assurance activities, Clinical Review and Audit, and Clinical Standards and Policies. He is a member of the SGH Enterprise Risk Management Council, Quality Network, Medication Safety Advisory Committee, Safety Network, and the SGH Serious Reportable Event Quality Assurance Committee. At SGH, he also been closely involved in preparing and guiding the hospital through its JCI surveys, with the most recent being its successful 4th re-accreditation survey.

Dr Ho has also been actively involved in various teaching and training programmes in Patient Safety for medical staff at SGH. He is an active member of the SingHealth Duke-NUS Institute for Patient Safety & Quality’s teaching faculty, and was involved in developing its Patient Safety teaching programmes, in particular its Root Cause Analysis Workshop and TeamSPEAKTM programme.
