Clin Asst Prof. David Teo is a Senior Consultant Psychiatrist with the Department of Psychological Medicine at Changi General Hospital (CGH). He heads CGH’s Health Wellness Programme (ASCAT CGH) and Medical Humanities Programme. His subspecialty interests are in youth mental health, psychosomatic medicine, and psychodynamic psychotherapy. He also has a special interest in the intersection of spirituality, medicine, and psychiatry. 

As a psychiatrist and psychodynamic therapist, he is experienced in combining medications and psychotherapy in the holistic treatment of a broad range of mental disorders across the lifespan. Following his specialist training in Psychiatry, he received advance training in Psychosomatic Medicine at the Columbia University Irving Medical Centre under the MOH Health Manpower Development Plan Fellowship. He has also completed training in Intensive Short-Term Dynamic Psychotherapy at the ISTDP Institute and Group Analysis by the Institute of Group Analysis. 

He is currently serving as Secretary of the World Psychiatric Association Psychotherapy Section, and Secretary of the Section of Child and Adolescent Psychiatrists, Academy of Medicine Singapore.
