Associate Professor Derrick Chen-Wee Aw is a dermatologist and physician in Sengkang General Hospital, Singapore. Prior to joining Sengkang General Hospital, he was head of the dermatology division in the National University Hospital, Singapore. 

As a senior consultant, his subspecialty interests are acne, psoriasis, eczema, urticaria, cosmeceuticals, and hospital dermatology. As the campus education director, he oversees undergraduate medical training of students from the three local medical schools. In Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, National University of Singapore, he is co-chair of the Collaborative Learning Cases committee, a student house Master mentor, and Associate with the Centre for Medical Education. In SingHealth, he is the Medicine ACP undergraduate education director. 

To date, he has over 80 scientific publications and 89 conference papers. With numerous teaching awards, he has given over 440 lectures in topics related to medicine, dermatology, and medical education. He has authored and edited 6 academic books, the latest of which was published last year: “The Geriatric Admission – a handbook for hospitalists”. During the COVID-19 pandemic, he shared his personal struggles with eczema in his personal book, “My Dance with Eczema – and 80 lessons for the patient and the doctor”.
