Assoc Prof Jason Chang

Clinical Associate Professor Jason Chang is a Senior Consultant and previous Head of the Department of Gastroenterology & Hepatology at the Singapore General Hospital. His clinical area of expertise is in Hepatology with a subspecialty interest in liver cirrhosis, portal hypertension, liver cancer, and non-invasive markers of fibrosis. He has a strong academic interest in clinical research and has published more than 70 peer-reviewed publications.
 
A/Prof Chang is a passionate educator who actively contributes to medical education. He completed his Master in Medical Education from the University of Dundee in 2021 and is an Assistant Dean (Clinical Clerkships) and Phase 2 Clinical Lead in the Duke-NUS Graduate Medical School. He is actively involved in undergraduate and postgraduate medical education. His area of interest is in faculty development. He has been awarded numerous awards for his role in medical education including the AMEI Golden Apple Award for Outstanding Educator in 2015. His roles in educational administration include Programme Director of the SingHealth Gastroenterology Residency Programme (2013-2018), Director of Faculty Development for Medicine ACP (2014-2023) and Chairman of the SGH Division of Medicine Education Oversight Committee.
