Dr Matin Mattar
Consultant,
Department of Internal Medicine,
SingHealth, Singapore
Dr Matin Mattar graduated from Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, National University of Singapore. He completed his training in internal medicine residency and thereafter, in advanced internal medicine senior residency in SingHealth Residency Programme. He is currently a consultant in the Department of Internal Medicine in Singapore General Hospital, where he is actively involved in postgraduate affairs and is currently the Associate Programme Director for PGY1 Residency for Internal Medicine.
He also sits on the SGH Junior Doctor Wellbeing Committee. In his experience as Associate Programme Director, he has had the opportunity to hone his remediation skills for underperforming PGY1s in the department through departmental performance review processes as well as the institution level in the SGH PGY1 Performance Review Subcommittee. He has been awarded the Outstanding PGY1 faculty RiSE award in 2019 and NUS YLLSOM Deans Award for Teaching Excellence which bears testament to his passion and keen interest in medical education.
