The Pitch for Fund Pilot Research Grant (PRG) was introduced by Anaesthesiology and Perioperative Sciences Academic Program (ANAES ACP) from 2017 to provide funding to developing investigators who are interested in clinical and translation research in Anaesthesia. The four main objectives of the grant are:
1. To encourage and provide opportunities for our young clinicians to embark on worthy Anaesthesiology, Intensive Care and Pain medicine projects or programs in research to improve patient care, through the provision of seed funding through the pitch for funding. With lower entry criteria as opposed to national or cluster level competitive grants, ANAES ACP PRG hopes to provide an alternative and accessible platform for our budding clinician scientists with worthy projects, who may have little or no experience in research, to secure funding for research.
2. To nurture passionate junior clinicians into future Clinician Scientists and Clinician Investigators.
3. To foster collaboration, within doctors from different institutions within ANAES ACP, Academic Medicine Research Institute, other ACPs, local or even international relevant organisations, to exchange and cultivate ideas and achieve better research outcomes.
4. To achieve advancements in Anaesthesiology and Perioperative Sciences through Research.
The Grant funds research projects with a focus on delivering specific outcomes in the research domain, towards a long-term goal.
The Grant call is open from March to end of April. The Pitch for Fund session is late May.
