8th Pathology ACP Research Day

Our 8th Research Day was held on Wednesday, 6 October 2021. Similar to last year, this year’s Research Day was also conducted virtually via Zoom webinar in view of the global COVID-19 pandemic. A new record number of 74 abstracts were received, with diverse topics on different pathology disciplines. Residents, trainees, medical students, undergraduates and allied health professionals showcased their research findings locally to colleagues in the pathology community through posters and platform presentations.

We were honored to have Prof Wun-Ju Shieh, a Visiting Professor at Department of Microbiology and Immunology, School of Medicine, College of Medicine, Taipei Medical University. He delivered his keynote lecture on “Global Impact of Emerging Infections and the Roles of the Pathologists”, which was informative and relevant.

Prof Wang Hongyan (Duke-NUS Medical School), Dr Mihir Gudi Ananta (KK Women’s and Children’s Hospital), A/Prof Lai Siang Hui (Singapore General Hospital) and A/Prof Cuthbert Teo (Health Sciences Authority) kindly served as our judges for the poster and platform presentations.

It was a valuable opportunity for the members of the pathology community to share and learn from one another as our participants presented their research findings enthusiastically.

Our heartiest congratulations to the winner of the 8th Pathology ACP Research Day.
