Integrating Educational Simulation into Quality Improvement Systems

Date: 05 Nov 2025, Wed | Time: TBC | Track Type: Keynote
Format: Face-to-face | Venue: The NAK Auditorium, Academia

Speaker: Dr Benjamin Brian Symon

Translational simulation is an established driver of system-wide improvement, and educational simulation remains a powerful tool for knowledge acquisition and team reflection. Yet these powerful approaches rarely converge in healthcare education.

In his talk, Dr Ben Symon shares insights from an innovative resuscitation education programme that successfully bridges this gap across rural Australia. By integrating educational simulation with quality improvement frameworks, his team of 12 educators transformed emergency care delivery across 37 hospitals - spanning a region five times the size of Japan.

Drawing from this groundbreaking work, Dr Symon reveals practical strategies for combining educational simulation with system improvement initiatives, offering actionable insights for healthcare educators and administrators to maximise their simulation programmes' impact while creating lasting organisational change.
