National Cancer Centre Singapore


Ms Ranitha Govindasamy is a Senior Medical Social Worker with the Department of Psychosocial Oncology at the National Cancer Centre Singapore. As a Medical Social Worker, she is involved in providing emotional support to, advocating for and empowering young patients with cancer at various points in their illness trajectory. Her interests are in education and ethical issues that affect oncology patients. She is the co-chair of the Clinical Ethics Committee at NCC and has been involved in training the of healthcare professionals in the areas of communication, ethics and psychosocial care. She aspires to raise awareness of the psycho-social-spiritual needs of AYAO patients and the ethical issues that are unique to them.
