Grief is a universal human experience that reaches both persons suffering from ill-health and their care providers. In healthcare, we often find ourselves bearing witness to the profound journey from life to death, alongside our patients and their families. This interdisciplinary seminar weaves together insights from social work, art therapy and music therapy in creating compassionate "holding spaces"—where the lived experience of patients and their families can be seen, heard and validated.
By exploring the art of bearing witness, we can develop our capacity for empathy to accompany others through their grief journey—to process their emotions, find solace and discover resilience. This seminar will offer selected tools, resources and companionship of the seminar leaders and participants to deepen your capacity to bear witness to and create authentic "holding spaces" for patients and families with whom we have the privilege to caring for.
