Mr Chen Yixing

Chen Yixing has solid backgrounds in healthcare simulation, statistics, biomedical engineering, and research. Certified as an emergency medical technician, Chen graduated with a bachelor's degree in biomedical engineering from Case Western Reserve University and dual master's degrees in public health epidemiology and environmental health. Chen has been a co-investigator on several published and presented topics in healthcare simulation, psychiatry, epidemiology, public health, and other healthcare related research. He has managed and consulted multiple private and public organizations, associations, and government bodies and has created multiple simulation techniques, trainers, and patents for a wide variety of healthcare professions.

Chen is currently a clinical simulation and education research associate at The University of Toledo’s Lloyd A. Jacob’s Interprofessional Immersive Simulation Center, an American College of Surgeons accredited centre. For the last decade, he has been involved in a wide variety of non-traditional healthcare simulation, including multi-disciplinary mass casualty, virtual reality, cadaveric, surgical simulations, and 3D printing/molding. Chen has an extensive background in high fidelity manikin engineering and repairs from various makes and models. Currently, he is using these skills to help consult for Echo Healthcare’s MeLiSA simulator maintenance programme. Out of his ten peer-reviewed journal publications, five are regarding healthcare simulation.
