Dr Sonali Prashant Chonkar

Dr Sonali Chonkar is a Senior Staff Physician and Lead for Education with the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology at KKH. She attained her Master of Medicine (Obstetrics and Gynaecology) from Seth G.S Medical College & K.E.M Hospital in India, and is currently a member of the Royal College of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, London.

With key interest in General Obstetrics and Gynaecology as well as medical education, Dr Sonali has mentored medical students across all three medical schools in Singapore and received numerous accolades such as “SingHealth Duke NUS AM. EI-GOLDEN APPLE award” (2014), “Duke-NUS Medical School Leadership Award” (2019), “SingHealth Quality Service STAR Award” (2019), “Dean’s Award for Teaching Excellence” Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, “KK People Developer (KKPD) Outstanding Clinical Teacher Award” (2014) in recognition of her excellent work in medical education. She was also the Chief Editor for the 2^nd edition of the “A Practical Handbook in Obstetrics and Gynecology for OBGYN Clinicians and the General Practitioner” book, which bagged the Highly Commended Certificate in Obstetrics and Gynaecology category by British Medical Association.
