Research Overview

Strategic Objectives

1. Promote and create a sustainable culture of high quality research and evidence-based practice in the FM    
community of SingHealth.

2. Facilitate FM ACP research collaborations among the FM departments and with academic partners and industry sponsors.

3. Identify and nurture FM researchers to lead and support the research commitments in FM ACP.

4. Engage all FM researchers in ongoing faculty development.

5. Align to SingHealth Duke-NUS Signature Research Programmes (SRPs)

Family Medicine Research Programmes

Family Medicine Research Programmes focus on enhancing person-centered care across the ages.

The programmes cover:

1. the development of accurate and easy to use test kits to identify medical conditions such as cancer, so that treatment can be initiated promptly;

2. better way of communication between healthcare worker and patient to make shared decision on treatment and investigations;

3. system to monitor the health of people in the community using AI and new technology;

4. program to educate people in self-management of long-term conditions;

5. better ways to prevent diseases and maintain health;

6. identify effective yet affordable treatment options;

7. coordinated approaches to enable people to understand the primary care and community services, so that

8. they know how to use them effectively and have pleasant experiences and interaction with the family physicians and other primary care professionals.
