Emily Tan is a Principal Medical Social Worker and Art Therapist with the Department of Psychosocial Oncology (DPO) at National Cancer Centre Singapore (NCCS).  Working closely with patients and caregivers, Emily integrates creative approaches to support the psychosocial wellbeing of patients and their families throughout their cancer journey, including survivorship and end-of-life.  She also oversees the Patient Support Programme at NCCS and together with her team at DPO, they run an average of 4 to 6 support groups every month to foster resilience and empowerment among cancer patients, survivors and their caregivers.  In addition to clinical work, Emily would incorporate creative expression into staff support, training, and supervision to encourage reflexive practice and personal growth.
