30 Nov 2019: Obstetrics Anal Sphincter Injuries (OASIS) Repair Workshop

With the aim to help doctors and residents better identify 2nd, 3rd and 4th degree tears and acquire skills to improve clinical outcomes, this workshop provided lectures which include anatomy of pelvic floor, mechanisms and diagnosis of OASIS, techniques in 3rd and 4th degree tears repair, postnatal care after OASIS as well as risk management. The practical component included hands-on repair of anal sphincter on animal models and simulators.

13 Oct 2019: Basic Surgical Workshop

With an established structured core surgical skills course, targeted at junior level trainees (i.e. House Officers, Medical Officers and Junior Residents), surgical trainings can be improved and standardised to a higher level of surgical competencies and knowledge. This programme focused on developing strong fundamentals for junior doctors who are encouraged to build up their surgical acumen and experiences by further participation in live procedures and surgeries.

28 Jun 2019: 6th SingHealth Duke-NUS OBGYN ACP Clinical Practice Improvement and Patient Safety Day

The 6th SingHealth Duke-NUS OBGYN ACP Clinical Practice Improvement held together with Patient Safety Day, showcased both patient safety and clinical quality. We were privileged to have A/Prof Yong Tze Tein, A/Prof Tai Hwei Yee, Dr Shephali Tagore, Dr Angsumita Pramanick, Ms Irene Chan, Dr Suzanna Sulaiman, Dr Lional Karunamary, and A/Prof Bernard Chern with us to share their knowledge and stories with our participants. An award presentation was also held to honour the teams and individuals for their work in enhancing patient safety and clinical quality.

6 Apr 2019: OBGYN ACP Retreat

The annual retreat offers a platform for the presentation of OBGYN ACP's achievements and progress, as well as the cross-sharing and open discussion of relevant topics facing the OBGYN ACP today. The highlight of the retreat was the discussion on the three domains - Education, Clinical and Research respectively. These were followed by group discussions exploring the various issues and ideas to help advance Academic Medicine in the various domains.

25-26 Jan 2019: 4th Basic Colposcopy and Management of Pre-Invasive Disease of the Genital Tract Workshop

The objective of the programme is to ensure participants acquire the necessary theoretical knowledge, colposcopic technical skills, ability to recognise normal and abnormal cervix, procedural skills as well as communication skills to improve patient care and outcome.

The 1.5-day workshop consisted of didactic lectures exploring various conditions of the cervix and lower genital tract, detailed knowledge of the HPV virus, principles management of the various pre-malignant conditions, case studies and special situations. The practical session would also allow participants to further enhance their clinical excellence through improved competence in diagnostic colposcopy procedures under close supervision and guidance from the experienced faculty.

11-12 Jan 2019: Asia Pacific Diabetes in Pregnancy Conference (APDIP) & Integrated Platform for Research in Advancing Metabolic Health Outcomes of Women and Children (IPRAMHO) International Meeting 2019

The 2nd APDIP and IPRAMHO International Meeting 2019 was well-received and attended by over 200 local and overseas delegates.

Led by SingHealth Duke-NUS OBGYN Academic Clinical Programme under KKH, the theme revolved around 'Optimal Perinatal Nutrition for Better Metabolic Health' and gathered clinicians, nurses and health professionals working on Gestational Diabetes Management (GDM) and Perinatal Nutrition. The Optimal Perinatal Nutrition Guidelines was officially launched by Guest-of-Honour Senior Minister of State Dr Amy Khor at the event.
