Dr David Grant

Dr David Grant is the Deputy Director of Paediatric Critical Care at Bristol Children’s Hospital. Since 2004, he has been actively involved in simulation innovation, delivery and leadership at institutional, regional, national and international level. His focus is on the establishment of local sustainable simulation infrastructure that enhances patient safety and quality of healthcare delivery through integration of multi-disciplinary interprofessional simulation initiatives at undergraduate and postgraduate levels, including the optimisation of  healthcare professionals' performances as well as the teams and systems they work in. He has successfully supported the establishment of regional and national simulation networks across the world.

Additionally, he has led the establishment of an innovative master’s in healthcare management that draws from the knowledge of leading academics across the disciplines of healthcare and business to offer a comprehensive research-driven theoretical framework with practice-oriented knowledge and management skills. Designed to create a new generation of healthcare professionals who understand and provide solutions for the challenges faced by health systems and healthcare organisations in the 21st century, it provides in-depth understanding on a number of subjects related to healthcare organising to learn such as leadership, management, governance, financing, reporting, innovation, quality and safety.
