Ms Tan Hwee Yuan

Ms Tan Hwee Yuan, who found her passion in teaching and nurturing fellow nurses and healthcare professionals after embarking on her education career in 2012, is now Senior Nurse Educator at Sengkang General Hospital (SKH). As a critical care trained nurse who is specialised in simulation-based education, she advocates learning experiences that ignite critical thinking and learning from realistic clinical case scenarios while protecting the learners’ psychological safety.
In her career as an educator, Ms Tan has contributed vastly in clinical programme development that utilises hybrid or blended education approach, integrating education strategies such as didactics, e-learning, simulation as well as clinical teaching. She is also actively involved in educators' development, overseeing the training of preceptors, clinical instructors and simulation faculty while upholding simulation standards in SKH as part of the SingHealth Duke-NUS Institute of Medical Simulation (SIMS) accreditation team.
