The inaugural FAmily Medicine Academic Clinical Programme Research and Innovation (FAMARI) Day was held on Saturday, 23 February 2019 at Sands Expo and Convention Centre.
This was a platform for health professionals in the primary care and local academic institutions to collaborate, network and exchange ideas and outcomes on research and innovations. Guest-of-Honour Professor Tan Chorh Chuan, Executive Director, Ministry of Health (MOH) Office for Healthcare Transformation, and Chief Health Scientist, MOH was present to grace the event. Two non-binding Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the University of Malaya (UM) and the Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) were signed with SingHealth Polyclinics during the event.
Adding to that, more than 10 innovative primary care medical technology solutions were showcased during the event. The technologies and innovations were developed and initiated by family physicians from FM ACP in collaboration with clinicians from Surgery ACP and students from Singapore University of Technology & Design (SUTD), Hwa Chong Institution, Nanyang Polytechnic and ITE College West.
On the same day, FM ACP had also invited SingHealth Medical Technology Office (MTO) to conduct an Innovation Workshop. The purpose was to induct primary care professionals into research and development and encourage innovations in provision of care to patients.
