Maximising the Impact of Feedback

Feedback is integral to learning and improvement but learners’ feedback uptake has been variable. A highly regarded, evidence-based model that facilitates learners’ acceptance and use feedback is the R2C2 (Relationship, Reaction, Content, and Coaching). Developed by renowned feedback scholars including Joan Sargeant and Eric Holmboe, the R2C2 is a reflective model for providing feedback and coaching through an interactive conversation.

Learning Objectives

  • Identify and critique their current feedback practices.
  • Apply R2C2 feedback strategies through role-play.
  • Adapt the R2C2 model for their specific teaching contexts.
