Virtual Interprofessional Teaching And Learning (VITAL)


Keen to conduct a virtual IPE workshop, but unsure how to facilitate it effectively?

The Virtual Interprofessional Teaching And Learning (VITAL) workshop aims to equip participants with the knowledge of InterProfessional Education (IPE). Through seven virtual modules, participants will gain best practices and core competencies to facilitate IPE virtually, which is especially relevant in a post-pandemic world.


Learning Objectives

  • Understand the rationale for advancing IPE and interprofessional core competencies (Canadian Interprofessional Health Collaborative (CIHC) Competencies/US IPEC Competencies) into learning activities for students, educators, and clinicians.
  • Explore interprofessional virtual facilitation best practices, tips and resources.
  • Develop virtual and face-to-face strategies to enable increased faculty and clinical capacity and interest in IPE in academic and practice settings.

 

Overview on Modules
Module 1 - Overview of IPE/IPC, evidence, literature, and best practices

Module 2 - Role Clarification and Negotiation

Module 3 - Interprofessional Communication and Team Disagreements Processing - Focus on Patient Safety/QI

Module 4 - Collaborative Relationship Focused Care/Services

Module 5 - Team Functioning - Psychological Safety and Leadership - Pulling It All Together

Module 6 - IP Facilitation Tips and Resources

Module 7 - Knowledge Transfer and Implementation

This course is chargeable at S$800, subjected to prevailing GST rates.

Participants are strongly encouraged to attend this workshop with their project team members as there will be opportunities to apply workshop learnings in their current project or interprofessional team.
