About

In Medicine ACP, we have many QI talents and potential QI ideas that could help to improve the care we provide for our patients, with a focus on value-based care. With the implementation of the Medicine QI Education Programme, all Medicine ACP stakeholders can leverage on the resources and opportunities to continuously learn and deepen engagement in QI. In this spirit, faculty, residents and other healthcare professionals can be in better positions to run their QI projects and encourage Inter-Professional Collaboration in QI to solve system-level problems effectively.

Description
Spread and adoption mindset needs to reflect the complexity and system nature of spread and adoption, the increasing need to work across boundaries and to focus on the people involved.
Approaches to Spread and Scale
The spread and scale of innovation and improvement is a huge and long standing challenge which we need to meet to successfully deliver healthcare. To help you achieve spread and scale we have collated all the ways to do this into seven approaches listed below:

Spread and Adoption Case Studies
These cases studies demonstrate how the seven interconnected spread and adoption principles and systems convening work in practice from the perspective of staff in a range of settings.

Human Factors for Process Improvement in Healthcare
Human Factors is a multidisciplinary science of applying knowledge and principles of human-system interaction to design systems that are better fitted for humans. In healthcare, complex and demanding task environments and processes can amplify human limitations and fallibility leading to errors or risky behaviours despite our best efforts. There is a need to design systems that perform reliably even though to err is human.

This course will cover some theories, techniques and tips based on Human Factors science on designing for humans. The knowledge will be applicable for participants who seek to analyse and improve work processes around them to make them more resilient to human errors and risky behaviours and more satisfying for the human.

Root Cause Analysis
Enables participants to undertake holistic analysis of problems to identify underlying fundamental system issues. This supports the design of effective solutions that can reduce the risk of recurrence of the problems. The course cover Root Cause Analysis process, important concepts and tools that support effective problem analysis and development of solutions.
