You are invited to the upcoming NBD Seminar: iPSCs-based Regenerative Medicine and Drug Development of CNS Disorders.
Abstract:iPSC technology has multiple applications in regenerative medicine and drug development. NS/PCs derived from iPSCs have shown promise for the treatment of spinal cord injury (SCI). We performed the first human participant transplantation of iPSC-derived NS/PCs for subacute SCI in 2021. iPSC-based techniques also offer new opportunities for disease modeling and drug development. Ropinirole was identified as a potential anti-ALS drug through iPSC-based studies and confirmed in the ROPALS trial.Presenter:Prof Hideyuki OkanoProfessor and ChairDepartment of PhysiologyKeio University School of Medicine, JapanSeminar Details:Date: 22 June 2023, ThursdayTime: 3:00pm to 4:00pmVenue:Level 2, Amphitheatre, Duke-NUSHost:Prof Wang HongyanPrincipal Investigator & Deputy Programme DirectorNeuroscience & Behavioural Disorders ProgrammeDuke-NUS All are welcome.
