Ms Susan Eller

Ms Susan Eller MSN, RN, CHSE, PhD Candidate is the Associate Dean of Immersive Learning and Learning Spaces at Stanford University School of Medicine. In this role, she works with Dr David Gaba and oversees a team to provide educational experiences for undergraduate, graduate, interdisciplinary, and continuing medical education programmes. 

Ms Susan also has a faculty appointment at Northwestern University, Chicago where she teaches simulation-based mastery learning. She is part of the faculty for The Debriefing Academy, a multinational academy of simulation debriefing experts and leaders established in 2019. Dr Susan’s area of interest as a researcher is on psychological safety in pre-licensure nursing simulation and distance simulation. 

A leader in the global simulation community for several years, Susan serves as a mentor for Society for Simulation in Europe (SESAM) and the Society for Simulation in Healthcare (SSH). She is also a member of the Simulation Research Network (SiReN) steering committee at SESAM and the SSH Research Committee. Ms Susan thrives on shared learning, especially when collaborating with learners and faculty. She is advancing the science of healthcare simulation by engaging more of the community in quality scholarship and ensuring safe containers for simulation learning for all.
