Jess Chen Jieyin, Senior Occupational Therapist, SKH, shared that one good habit to improve well-being is to check in with friends and family members regularly. Dropping them a text message to ask about their day or setting aside time to listen and share with each other on recent life events provides the opportunity for those involved to get in touch with their emotional needs and express challenges faced. It also provides a safe space to reflect, and seek alternative perspectives and mutual support. This practice will help deepen relationships and improve social connections, which is an important factor in strengthening your mental health.
