Dr Anitha, a Staff Physician, currently work in the Department of Child Development at KK Women’s and Children’s Hospital (KKH) since 2013.
In addition to clinical work, she do teaching for 4th year medical students of the LKC School of Medicine, Family Medicine resident who are attached to the Department of Child Development.
She is a graduated with MBBS from Government Medical College, Calicut, Calicut University, Kerala, South India in 1993. Secured a Diploma in Child Health (DCH) from Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow, United Kingdom in 1996. Passed MRCPCH in 2012. In 2019, completed her Fellowship in Developmental and Behavioural Paediatrics from KKH.
Her initial working experience started in Kerala, India from 1994 to1996 as a Paediatric trainee in 2 different hospitals, moved to Sultanate of Oman where she received training for DCH. Following this, she accompanied her husband to Brunei Darussalam, where she joined the outpatient services as a Medical Officer in Paediatrics in August 1997. In 2003, she joined RIPAS Hospital - Paediatrics department where she worked in rotation in Paediatric ICU, Neonatal ICU and General Paediatrics until 2007. From 2007 to 2011, she worked as a Senior Registrar in the Neonatal Department. She was involved in teaching medical students from Medical College at the Institute of Health Science, Brunei Darussalam and also for the nursing students of Nursing College, Ministry of Health, Brunei Darussalam. From 2011 until 2012, she worked in KKH, Paediatric Department to move on to Department of Child Development in 2013 till date.
