Dr Cheng Zai Ru received her medical degree from National University of Singapore (NUS) in 2008 and subsequently obtained her Master of Medicine in Paediatric Medicine (NUS) and attained Membership to the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health (UK) in 2013. She further obtained the Graduate Diploma in Mental Health (NUS) in 2020 and Graduate Diploma in Family Medicine (NUS) in 2022.
She has been providing outpatient care to patients seen within the Respiratory Medicine Service since 2014, treating patients with general respiratory conditions, asthma and sleep conditions. Between 2015-2019, she collaborated with local schools and organizations on excursions for KKH patients with chronic respiratory illnesses to help them realise the fun in exercise through the Breathe Easy And Restful Sleep (B.E.A.R.S) Club.
Since 2020, she has been the anchor clinician for video consultation services provided by the Respiratory Medicine Service.
She is currently an Adjunct Lecturer with the Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine and a Clinical Tutor with NUS Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine.
Her clinical research interests are in paediatric respiratory and sleep related disorders.
