Dr Chua Hong Liang is a specialist in the field of Obstetrics & Gynaecology. He obtained his medical degree from National University of Singapore in 1989. Following his postgraduate training, he was admitted to the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists as a member in 1996.
In the year 2000, Dr Chua was awarded the HMDP fellowship for Urogynaecology by Ministry of Health, Singapore. He was trained at Saint Mary's Hospital, Manchester, UK.
Upon his return, he took over as the lead Urogynaecologist at Singapore General Hospital, responsible for the care of women with pelvic floor disorders. He later facilitated the setup of a multidisciplinary pelvic floor service to look after patients with complex pelvic floor dysfunction. This was the first such joint clinic in Singapore involving specialists from Urology, Colorectal and Gynaecology.
In January 2021, Dr Chua joined KK Women's and Children's Hospital as the Head of Urogynaecology Department. He continues to be a visiting consultant to Singapore General Hospital.
Dr Chua's area of work include management of pregnancy and childbirths, treatment of uterine fibroids, ovarian cysts, menstrual problems, and other common gynaecological conditions. As a trained urogynaecologist, he also specializes in the medical and surgical management of women with urinary incontinence and pelvic organ prolapse.
