I started in my role of Senior Consultant in Paediatric Palliative Care in KKH in January 2024.
Prior to this appointment, I trained and worked in the UK in Paediatrics, and Paediatric Palliative Medicine. After graduating with my medical degree from the University of Edinburgh, I completed my house jobs and then started Paediatric training in London. I entered sub-specialty training in Paediatric Palliative Medicine, obtaining my Certificate of Completion of Training (UK) in both Paediatrics and Paediatric Palliative Medicine in 2010.
My first consultant position was a Consultant in Paediatric Palliative Care at Great Ormond Street Hospital in London. Following that, I was appointed by University Hospital Southampton (UHS) to start a specialist paediatric palliative care service in that hospital and for the South Coast region of England. This post also included being the medical director at Naomi House Children’s Hospice & Jacks Place for Young Adults, and managing patients across settings in hospital, hospice and the patient’s home. I developed and grew this clinical service, secured further funding to expand the team and attracted two excellent successor consultants to lead this now established service.
In 2020, I returned to a Paediatric Palliative Care Consultant post at Great Ormond Street Hospital.
In 2024, I relocated to Singapore as KK Women’s and Children’s Hospital presented me an opportunity to deliver and develop paediatric palliative care as a specialty in Singapore.
