Profile

Dr Scott Xu is an Associate Consultant with the Department of Sport and Exercise Medicine at Changi General Hospital (CGH). He graduated from the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, National University of Singapore, and subsequently completed training in family medicine – with a subsequent sub-specialisation in the domain of sport and exercise medicine at CGH.

A former competitive student athlete in football, Dr Xu's journey and practise of sports medicine is influenced by his experiences, such as having personally coped with injuries on the field. He adopts a holistic, patient-centred approach in providing comprehensive care for patients spanning varying ages and athletic backgrounds, to help them achieve their performance potential.

Beyond his clinical role at CGH, Dr Xu has served on advisory committees for national sports associations to help shape sports policies and practices. In addition, he has been the team physician for several Singapore football teams, and has provided medical support to athletes participating in key international sporting events. In the aspect of medical education, Dr Xu is an educator in sport and exercise medicine and family medicine – particularly through CGH’s Graduate Diploma in Sports Medicine programme – in addition to other external education appointments.
